The best movie ever.

I’ve chosen the second topic from the list as it seems to be quite exciting to write an essay about one of my favorite movies. Actually, it was quite hard to choose one film because there is a great variety of great comedies, dramas, westerns etc. But I managed to choose it. I decided to write about the movie which is called ‘The Truman Show’. So, here is my essay:

The movie industry is developing more and more nowadays. There are a lot of TV shows, soap-operas and films. That’s why it’s sometimes hard to choose things which are really worth paying attention to. I consider the movie “The Truman show” to be one of greatest films and it is worth seeing.

Let me mention that, “The Truman Show” is a 1998 American dramedy (including elements from drama and comedy) film directed by Peter Weir. The cast includes Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank. I think that the idea is great! The film chronicles the life of a man who initially is unaware, however ultimately discovers he is living in a constructed reality soap opera, televised 24/7 to billions of people across the globe, allowing executive producer Christof to capture Truman's real emotion and human behavior when put in certain situations. During the film we watch Truman’s life, his everyday routine. But we suddenly start to feel sympathy for him when we find out that his world is imaginative, so to speak. As I understand it: he’s not living, he is existing because everything around him is artificial. This is unnatural. Truman has no choice, everything has been already decided. The That’s why we can consider this movie to be a drama. However, we can’t help admiring Jim Carrey’s acting. We know him as a comic and in this film we see his other sides. He appears in absolutely different role. He is serious and I think that this movie shows all sides of his talent.

I hope that after this small article you would like to watch this movie for the first time or rewatch it if you have already seen it. You can either watch it on-line in the internet or buy a CD.
All in all, it’s up to you to choose!
